At Wild Whim, we believe in the magic of the little things—twinkly lights, handwritten notes, the smell of pine after the rain. We're a whimsical vacation rental management agency based in midcoast Maine, specializing in unique stays that spark joy, invite adventure, and leave guests with stories to tell.

From cozy cabins to converted buses, we help hosts turn their one-of-a-kind spaces into unforgettable, out-of-the-box experiences. Whether you're a traveler seeking something soulful or a property owner with a hidden gem, we’re here to bring the wonder.

OUR VALUES

OFF GRID.

We believe in disconnecting from the chaos and reconnecting with what matters—nature, simplicity, and presence. Our properties invite guests to unplug and unwind, offering the kind of stillness and space you can’t find on a screen. Whether it’s solar-powered cabins, remote campsites, or cozy RVs tucked deep in the woods, we curate experiences that celebrate freedom, sustainability, and living life a little more raw and real.

OFF beat.

At Wild Whim, we celebrate the quirks, the character, and the creative spirit. We’re drawn to the odd-shaped A-frames, the boho buses, and the homes with stories in their walls. These aren’t cookie-cutter stays—they’re full of soul, personality, and surprise. We believe in standing out, staying curious, and offering guests a break from the bland with places that make them feel something.

OFF PATH.

We’re not here for the tourist traps—we’re here for the trails less traveled. Wild Whim is rooted in the spirit of exploration and discovery. Our stays are tucked in the corners, scattered through the woods, or hiding in plain sight—each one a gentle nudge to wander differently. We invite both hosts and guests to veer off-course, follow their curiosity, and find magic in the unexpected.

Text that says 'MEET MIK' with 'MIK' styled in a cursive font.

Hi, I’m Mik! I was born and raised on a farm in rural Vermont, reveling in the beauty of nature and simplicity.

In my later teens, I got the itch for exploration and adventure – so after achieving my Business Marketing degree at Vermont State University, I ventured out of New England to explore new surroundings while building a career in online marketing.

During that time, I not only worked for well-known brands you use every day, I also started a side project planning and executing large-scale conferences for women in business – helping me curate an eye for crucial details and guest experience.

This is about the time I went through a personal revolution.

I lived on the beach in LA at this same time, at the peak of my career and at the height of success of my side business. But something huge was missing inside…

That’s when I discovered that happiness is an inside job…and it takes so little to achieve it!

Stuff, external validation, and living a life that doesn’t truly align with your authentic self is not where you’ll find it.

With this discovery, I decided to sell all my stuff and move back to New England (you never how special it truly is until you leave it) into an off grid cottage in Maine where I discovered true abundance, presence, simplicity, and the riches that accompany following your wildest whims.

My life doesn’t look nearly as glam as it did once, but it sure feels a lot more full!

I aim to share a taste of this experience through Wild Whim, partnering with like-minded hosts and creating magical guest experiences that help them step into a sphere where they can get back to the basics, connect with their true nature, and know that through having just the basics, they have enough to connect to that happiness and centeredness that lies within.
